How To Persistent Pain And Pressure In Head After A Head Injury?

Hi I m a 45-year-old woman and last month and a half I experienced a very bad fall. The fog was so bad I fell on my back and then on my side and I hit my head on the floor so strong that I split my ear and I needed 15 stitches in my head. For the first few days I felt A mild headache but by the end of the week my head was in excruciating pain and I m bearable. I went for a CT scan and no bleeding but the pressure and the pain you re still as of today unbearable. My doctor says to take add Ville Tylenol I took Percocet oxycodone morphine name the mall and they don t work. I feel like I have a major sinus infection but all grain. I have been literally in bed in darkness and in pain since December 5. My doctor just tells me to take pain medication and it will go away. I have been seeing a concussion specialist doing acupuncture and soft tissue therapy and not better, please thank you my name is Chantel and some soft tissue therapy. But I find it s not progressing. I m in a lot of pain and losing a lot of hope and I am really tired of the pain. Do you have any suggestions because I am truly very getting tired. My mom had to stay full-time with my three children for a month as I can take care of myself

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, there are many instances of head injury during which initial scan is normal absolutely and patient gets recurrent symptoms over a long period of time. The reason behind this is too early scanning, late development of detectable lesions of brain or else. I would request to get a latest CT scan without contrast for best evaluation of current situation and share the same with your doctor soon.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
