How To Prevent A Sexually Transmitted Disease?

Hi Sir, I am a 35 yr old female and want your advice on sexual well being. I was in a relationship earlier this earlier until July and it ended.The relationship was physical but we didn t have intercourse or oral. We only indulged in kissing, licking, biting etc, mutual masturbation (while clothed) . Since i am starting a new relationship now, I want to ensure i am safe and dont infect my partner. Please let me know if any precautions have to be taken. Thanks, Megha

Hi;

At first, I congratulate you for being responsible about this issue. Many young lady like you are prone to ignore this fact and unfortunately they suffer from many STDs and their complications over time. I will be glad to inform you.

First, you or your partner must use condoms in every sexual intercourse. It prevents many STDs along with unwanted pregnancies. Other preventions methods like birth control pills, intrauterine devices are other solutions if your sexual intercourses (penile-vaginal sex) are frequent. Second, if your partner has genital warts or genital discharge, or bruises in his arms, you must be cautious for STDs and other chronic viral infections (Hep B-C etc). You can still be infected even he uses a condom.

If your partner is definitely a completely healthy person, I still advise condoms. Anal and oral sex are more prone to create urinary tract infections or upper respiratory tract infections, however, using condom and taking care for hygene may reduce these risks.

Hope you never experience any problems
