How To Prevent Leg Stiffness Due To Long Standing Hours?

Hi there, as a college lecturer i spend quite a bit of time standing in lecture theatres. Recently i've noticed that my left leg gets very stiff but when i walk for a short while it returns to normal. what could be causing this and what would you recommend i should do to prevent it happening? many thanks, john
