Hello
Let me explain that the prices of birth control pills , implant and shot are different and varies from place to place , country to country.
In my opinion since you are new.
Assuming that you are having regular menstrual cycle , a combination containing ).03 mg or less of
ethinyl estradiol with minimum effective dose of progestin ( group A/B ) are preferred .
So first of all visit a chemist shop or other shop take an OTC oral
contraceptive pill .
Mind it take this pill one / day at same time ( do not miss any day ) .
Usually there is no side effect except
nausea , that too only for short period and medicine will adjust within a short period .
Implant and shot I don't like , so I will not advise.
As far as about protection for STDs , always insist CONDOM ( you can insist to your partner double condom) .
Good quality condom act as a barrier not only for stds, but also prevent
pregnancy.
Hope this information will be useful for you.
