If she is on any form of regular contraception or if the act took place around the safe period, the risk of conception is very low. If she is not on any other protection and/or if it happens to be her fertile period of the cycle, emergency contraception is the only way out. It can be in the form of the pill or an IUD. If the pill is taken, owing to the high hormone content, withdrawal bleeding may be seen after a few days and the next natural cycle gets delayed by a week or two. Hope this helps.
