Hello,

Normal ALT level for a male ranges from 29 to 33 units per liter (IU/L). You have elevated level. To reduce the ALT level to normal, you will have to gradually cut on alcohol intake slowly quit it. Do it gradually so that you don't get withdrawal symptoms, you can take the help of any detox center (stay connected with a detox center so that the withdrawal symptoms can be managed at the earliest).

High ALT commonly results from chronic alcohol intake, fatty liver, liver dysfunction due to hepatitis, viral hepatitis, etc. Other causes are taking high fat diet(saturated fat), inadequate sleep, stressful lifestyle, intake of some medicines or addictions.

You are suggested to avoid addictions if any. Be cautious about what medications you take. Stay well hydrated. Water will help detox. Stop taking spicy, oily junk food. Take only home made food & veggies. Initially take only boiled food with a little salt & pepper for taste. Do not take raw fruits or veggies, cook it well. Taking raw food will load your liver now.

Take liver tonic (Liv-52) and digestives (syrup Aristozyme) for help. Take plenty of sleep. Avoid any type of stress(emotional/ physical). Do not take red meat, refined flour, cheese, pasta, butter or any food that causes digestion difficult. Boiled eggs are hard to digest, take omelette but limit the amount(single egg). Re-check your ALT level after 25-30 days.

If you are on complete boiled food it will improve. When it improves you can take food cooked in little amount of olive oil. You can take PPI's to avoid acid reflux, one SOS when needed. Take food good for live like sugarcane juice, papaya, oatmeal. Avoid fried and salty food.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
