How To Reduce Damages To Muscles By Training For Marathon?

I had a sledging accident three months ago, and I have some lower back pain on the left side. I chipped part of the T12. I am now nearing the end of my training for a marathon and i'm getting twinges in the left calf.I'm beginning to worry i'm damaging myself with all this training. Could you please advise?
