How To Reduce Dose Of Nexito Forte For Depression?

Dear Sir, I am taking Nexito Forte (morning) and Zaipiz 0.5 (Evening) tab due to depression from last 6 months. now i want to reduce the dose of above mentioned medicine because i feel very fatigue and heaviness in head. please suggest me. thanking you RK Sharma

Hello

Thanks for asking

Nexito forte consists of Escitalopram and clonazepam. Zapiz consists of clonazepam. You have been taking these drugs since last six months. Abrupt stoppage will lead to withdrawal syndrome of both drugs.

Best way to wean off the drug is by gradually reducing the dose of drug. Start reducing the dose of about 25% every 2 weeks and stop completely at about 6-8 week. This is the regimen I follow with my patients. You can start with plain Nexito for next 2 weeks and then reduce the dose every two weeks. Similar tapering is done with clonazepam.
