Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have just found following a liver function blood test that my GGT level was 40. I have to have a repeat test in 3 months. Can I lower it in this time and how? I do not drink alcohol and have never smoked. I am a 44 year old female and have a BMI of 29.5. I am especially worried about my increased risk of breast cancer. If I manage to reduce my GGT level will I also reduce the higher risk of Breast Cancer.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Possibly the antibiotic is not effective / allergy / you have other infections like respiratory or kidney, hepatitis / viral infection. A wide range of infections with your family doctor's advise after examining you is needful to find the cause. Wait till 8 this day with 6 hourly plain paracetamol (for viral is self controlled in a week) if fever still exists visit your family physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
