How To Reduce High Creatinine Levels?

Hi... My father has been diagnosed with high creatinine levels. Since last 6 months he is on medicines. he has no problem in passing urine and feels hungry too but even with medicines the creatinine level is shooting up. He started with 3.5 level and now it is 5. In between it is 5.2 then it has came down to 4.4 by taking these medicines : aplazar-6 per day, trental, matilda forte, seloken xl, nodosis, cilacar, dytor, aztor. Earlier doctor has suggested awaytox med 10 days back .So now the creatinine level is 5 and with that urea is 106 . now, for reducing his creatinine level what i have to do ? please suggest.

Hi,

I am afraid it is a little difficult to answer with the current information. Creatinine and urea are simply indicators that the kidneys are not functioning well. The fact that they are raised alone does not provide any indication regarding why, the causes of kidney failure are many, many tests are detailed history are needed to identify the cause. For the moment you provide no info on tests and their suggested cause, neither of history, age, other conditions. Therefore without a cause it's tough to make predictions regarding the future (often it's a chronic issue though despite medication) and possible medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
