Hi Doctor, this is Kamran I had some skin problem like scabies for which i have done some tests of blood in which my SGPT percentage level is about 77..... now i would like to know that how can i reduce this percentage of SGPT. Please help me in this regard... Regards Kamran
Elevated SGPT may indicate liver injury. It may be due to many reasons like hepatitis, alcohol intake, altered lipid profile, medicines, auto immune causes etc. You may need few more investigations like routine hemogram, random blood sugar, lipid profile, viral markers, urine RE/ME,ultrasound of abdomen. I suggest tablet ursodeoxycholic acid 300 mg tablet twice daily for three months. It helps in regeneration of liver cells. You may need to take few more medicines after complete investigations.
