hi, I went to work fine, after about 1 hr. of working in the hot sun, my upper right lip started to swell. I felt very dehydrated and dizzy. I started drinking lots of water, and retreated to a very cool environment for a couple of hours. by this time, my whole entire lip was very swollen with no pain, and it s still swollen after several hrs. Please tell me what s going on. PS. I also take 5 mg of lysinopryl at morning and night ( it also includes a diahretic).
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The lip swelling can be because of angioneurotic edema that is secondary to allergic reaction to insect bite or any food items. The second possible cause can be because of a mucocele secondary to lip biting. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. If it is a allergic reaction, you can take atihistamines like cetrizine. If it is a mucocele, then it can be removed surgically under local anesthesia. I hope my answer will help you, take care.
