How To Reduce Pain In Gums And Nose After Teeth Removal?

my gums and nose are painful after having upper teeth removed for dentures. This has been going on for 3 months. The nose is dry and clear and I can breathe through it fine. My doctor looked at nose and said it is not inflamed. My dentist looked at gums and said it is not infected. What do I do to make this pain stop?

hi dear ,

As per your query you have pain in upper gums and nose after extraction of teeth for denture . Sometimes during extraction due to brittleness in teeth very small part chip off from root and remains in the socket even after extraction of tooth , which get infected and cause problem . Actually the you are suffering from pain in gums which is radiating towards nose and apprea to you as nose pain. I would suggest you to consult oral surgeon for proper examination and to rule out any trauma to jaw bone or its fracture or puncturing of sinus wall .Doctor may order X-ray or CT scan to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may give small incision under local anesthesia and remove the chip . For now do warm saline rinses and take acetaminophen for pain and swelling.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
get well soon.
