How To Reduce Pain Under Shoulder Blade?

have pain under right shoulder blade, having a hard time rolling over in bed. seem a little better when I am sitting. sometime comes around right side.woundering what I can do for this pain.went to my doctor and to the e.r. they say it is a muscle spasm.have had this pain for over 3 weeks. thank you doctor.
