Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an unusual sharp, shooting pain in my scalp. In the top left quadrant, closer to the crown of my head than to my forehead. Lately I have also felt easily nausious. The piercing, pulsations in my scalp do not feel like a headache, but more rather like a nerve ending shooting pain, radiating from my inner scalp.
Firstly - what is your age? If you're 60 and above, check if you can feel a hard cord like sensation where it hurts. It might be what we call - Temporal or Giant Cell arteritis. If yes then you need to consult a physician for confirmation and get appropriate treatment like Steroids for it.
If you fall in a younger age group- your description sounds like its a nerve related pain. You could supplements of Vit B6 B12 Folic acid along with a nerve soothening agent like Pregabalin at night. Also youay try mild pain killers like Paracetamol.
