How To Reduce Swelling And Pain In Knees?

about a week ago I fell and scraped my knees pretty bad, I cleaned them and bandaged them and it seemed they were healing fine. Yesterday eveneing one knee began to ache and swell, today I can barely move it and the swelling has not gone down. Despite my icing and elevating.what is it & how can I fix it ?
