How To Reduce Swelling In Knee?

I fell on my knees a month ago. I fell hard. My right knee took the majority of the trauma. It hurt originally but the pain in pretty much gone. The swelling is still there. I've done RICE and I've tried heat. My knee is pretty much normal except for the swelling. What can I do to get the swelling down? I don't want to go to the Dr because I'm afraid he'll want to drain it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
I am your Physician to help you out. I know whats going on really inside your knee. Stay calm and no need to worry. When u fell on your knee it caused internal bleed(haematoma formation). Also the tissue which has got some level of crush injury that also swells upto a variable extent. Dont worry about it. It takes time but goes away by itself. Problem was if u have had fever/severe pain/knee joint movement issues/issue with body weight bearing by knee. But thank God You are already saved from such complications
