How To Reduce Swelling Of The Throat?

Hi, I am a male, 27 years old. I woke up this morning with my throat bothering me. not as much sore but feeling swollen and a little phlegm. within the past few hours since i felt a little nauseous, a little cough, nose slightly stuffy, and feeling drowsy. I did return home from a flight out of town yesterday as well. Is it something i may have caught on the flight or perhaps some seasonal allergies? - Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a common cold or flu.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation.
I recommend to drink liquids and gargle with salty water.
If the symptoms continue, I suggest to take a cycle of antibiotics to treat the infection.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
