How To Reduce The CA 125 Count While On Chemotherapy?

my Mom is 53 Years , she has Ovarian Cancer , she is taking Chemotherapy from 2.5 Years, earlier her CA 125 was 40 but now its 1300 , how to reduce this ? and what medicine she should take ? pleases tell, whether to continue Chemo ? why still for cancer perfect medicine is not found yet..?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern for your mother.
CA 125 is a tumor marker. Since she is being treated for Ovarian cancer, this marker is used to only monitor the response to chemotherapy.
If it is increased, then proper evaluation needs to be done to know what would be the cause for it and it needs to be attended either by altering the dose of medications or by some other means of interventions.
Kindly consult Oncologist (Cancer Specialist) for further evaluation and management.
Since cancer is a disease with uncontrolled growth of unwanted tissues and has a wide variety of presentation and forms, perfect medicine is yet to be found.
