General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You attained menarche at the age of 17 yrs and are having irregular menstruation from then. At present you are also having a lot of facial hair. You are suggested to take a balanced home made diet rich in minerals (iron and calcium) with proteins in your diet. Take well cooked whole cereals with fruits and vegetables. Poor general health conditions may cause irregular periods.

Other medical causes are thyroid issues, obesity, hormonal imbalance, PCOS, etc. Excessive body or facial hair in women is commonly due to higher than normal levels of androgens, including testosterone. All females produce androgens, but the levels typically remain low. You can take uterine tonics like Uterofem. You can also take syrup Ashokarishta. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get blood tests, urinalysis, imaging tests done to rule out any disease that is causing such issues. You may need hormonal treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
