How To Remove Excessive Wax From Ear?

I have had ear ache for over one month now. Doctor who I saw at the start said I had fluid behind both ear drums but said there doesn t seem to be any infection. He gave me antibiotics anyway. Still though the pain is there in both ears and really hurts. I can hear a noise in my right ear like something moving around.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of excessive wax build up in ear which is due to sinus discharge which seems to leads to ear infection and accumulation of thick fluid behind eardrum. You should get it removed as it will lead to dizziness and impaired hearing. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and an otoscopic examination can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly. For infection in ear antibiotics oral as well as ear drops. You should put wax dissolving ear drops in ear and don't plug it with the help of cotton. Avoid use of q tip. Visit ENT specialist once and doctor may place tubes in ear to release the pressure and drainage. Avoid touching or pricking ear with any sharp object.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
