How To Remove Extra Skin Growth On Vagina?

I don t really know how to explain it but on my vagina i have an extra piece of skin just hanging down? It s like a darkish purple, and hangs like 2 inches down. It s on the left side like one of the folds was stretched and that happened? I have had it since I remember but am too embarrassed to tell anyone. Can you help? It isn t painful to the touch and it never bothers me but I m wondering how I can get it removed. Can I tie a string around it cutting of any circulation and have it drop off? It just feels like skin on skin to the touch, what is it? Thank you
