How To Remove Large Purple Area On Inner Thigh?

Hi, I m a 19 year old female, I m 5 4 and weigh around 180 lbs.. I am currently in the process of losing weight but I have noticed large purple areas on each inner thigh. They are not sore, there is no pain when I apply pressure, and I ve never really had pain in that area. They just kinda showed up. I m not really sure how long they ve been there, but I m sure a good while now. Should I see a doctor or let it be? I m kind of embaressed by them.. I mean when I get serious with someone will he be weirded out by them? I would also like to know how I can make them go away or at least fade away.. Thank you.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

Perhaps they are due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from previous fungal infection. I suggest you to try using a kojic acid cream, twice daily for a few days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Kakkar S., Dermatologist
