How To Remove Scar Under Eyebrow?

My daughter slipped and fell on her face. She hurted herself on left side of face - a scar on forehead , under the left eyebrow and bruises on cheekbones. Thankfully she did not hurt her eyes. Her left eye is swollen now due to the scar under eyebrow, please advise on what best can be done to feel her better.

Hi,

Scars can be difficult to treat and may take time to fade. Here are some tips to help reduce the appearance of a scar under the eyebrow:
- Keep the wound clean: Proper wound care is essential to promote healing and prevent infection. Use a gentle cleanser to wash the wound and avoid picking at any scabs or crusts that may form.
- Apply a silicone gel or sheet: Silicone gel or sheets have been shown to help reduce the appearance of scars. They work by hydrating the skin and creating a protective barrier that helps reduce the scar's size and redness.
- Use sunscreen: Sun exposure can make scars more noticeable, so it is important to protect the area with sunscreen or by wearing a hat.
- Massage the scar: Massaging the scar can help to improve blood flow and break up any scar tissue that may have formed. Use gentle circular motions and massage the area for some time everyday.
- Consider seeing a dermatologist: A dermatologist can recommend treatments such as laser therapy or corticosteroid injections to help reduce the appearance of the scar.

In addition to these tips, it is important to monitor the scar for any signs of infection or other complications. If your daughter experiences increasing pain, redness, or swelling, or if the scar begins to ooze pus, she should immediately see a healthcare provider.

For the swollen eye, you can apply a cold compress to the area for 10-15 minutes at a time several times a day. This would help in reducing inflammation and swelling. If the swelling does not improve or your daughter experiences any vision changes, she should see a healthcare provider immediately.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

You have not mentioned the age of your daughter. Her left eye is swollen due to scar under eyebrow. To reduce the symptoms of inflammation, she can take analgesics, it will help to reduce pain , swelling and soreness. Applying Soframycin ointment on the bruises and scars will be helpful but be careful not to put it inside the eyes.

If the scar and bruises are not deep, they will heal and slowly go away on their own. If the scars are deep , you should get her clinically examined by a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon so that treatment can be done at an early stage. Early stage treatment will help to remove scar marks permanently.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
