How To Stop Bleeding After Undergoing Colporrhaphy And Vaginoplasty?

I had surgery last week wed anterior/posterior colporrhaphy and Vaginoplasty. I had stopped bleeding and everything appeared to be fine and healing properly. But today I had a coughing spell and when i went to the bathroom I noticed blood. Bright red blood. I showered and put on a poise diaper and I ve been checking since 5pm. At last check its not a lot of blood. So my question is should I call or go to the hospital to ensure none of the stitches burst?

This is Dr Amit. I can understand your concern very well
According to me that occurred due to episodes of coughing which created pressure on the stitches and caused bleeding.
I will advice you to rush to the hospital and ask your doctor to see whether there is gap in the stitches or not as if wound remains open for long duration then it will increase the chances of infection and infection will delay the healing process.
I will advice you not to take heavy weight meanwhile, avoid straining,coughing and if your bandage becomes bloody, replace it with dry gauze or another bandage.
Applying pressure directly to the incision for a few minutes will usually stop the bleeding.
