How To Stop Chronic Menstrual Bleeding After Undergoing Abortion?

HI my name latha. i'm suffuring with period problem. actually 10th of every month i'll get periods. at 15th of this last month confirmed that i'm pragnent. after that i used MT pills for aborstion. 23rd onwards periods started still it's going on any solution to control the periods.

Dear Latha,

It seems the MT pills have started their action to terminate the pregnancy; however, you have landed in some complication which may be any one or both of the following:

1. Incomplete abortion: The procedure of termination of pregnancy has started but could not complete. Some products of conception might have been left inside the uterine cavity. The uterus in attempt to expel them out, it contracts and bleeds also. Usually such bleeding could be associated with pain in abdomen. If it continues without timely intervention, superadded infection sets in.

2. Infection: Either with the remaining partial products may get infected or even after complete abortion due to unhygienic practices, the intrauterine infection may set in which will result into bleeding. Infection usually causes fever.

Please submit yourself for ultrasonography. If there are any products still present in the uterine cavity, they will have to be evacuated by surgical procedure under antibiotics umbrella. By this time, superadded might have set in, so antibiotics should be given to you.

If the uterine cavity is empty, the chances of infection are very high which can be treated by suitable antibiotics.

Please start iron tablets and protein to cover your blood loss.

Please report to your Gynaecologist ASAP.
