How To Stop Noise In Ears?
Hi Doctor
My name is Pradeep, living in bangalore India, last year i got my left ear operated for cholesteatoma and was feeling better, suddenly a month back i started getting sound in my ears, which is very much disturbing, when i consulted my Dr he just asked me to ignore the sound, but i find it very difficult to do so. is there any treatment for this problem , kindly help me.

Hi Dear ,
As per your query you have problem of tinnitus ( noise in ear ) after surgical procedure . Tinnitus can be cause by many factors like stress , temporomandibular joint problem , wisdom tooth , cervical spondolysis , increase blood pressure or disturbance in any structure of ear in surgical procedure . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like audiometery , CT scan ,MRI , low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like hearing loss , exposure to loud noises , earwax build-up , middle ear infection and Ménière's disease . Doctor may prescribe sedatives , supplement like ginko biloba or surgically correct if there is any defect . For now take proper rest , do yoga and meditation .
