How To Stop Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding?

Hii. I am suffering from heavy bleeding from 15 july. I took pills to prolong my menstual cycle for 2 days in month of May. Then june i had very negligible bleeding and july it started heavy and prolonged bleeding. I have done 21 days course of regestrone pills . so my bleeding stopped after 2 days of starting pills . Then after 21 days again bleeding started as it was before. What should i do to stop my bleeding.

1. Treatment of menstrual irregularities varies according to age [from lifestyle changes to hormonal therapy] thus following is the approach:

i. P.V. examination and ultrasound to rule out abnormalities of the uterus.
ii. Hb%, WBC, bleeding disorder profile, serum thyroid profile.
iii. Consult with a gynecologist because if general measures fail then she might ask for endometrial curettage & biopsy but if bleeding persists after curettage, hysterectomy [removal of the uterus] is advised.
