How To Stop Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding While On Nexplanon?

Hello, I have had the Nexplanon since 10/14 and the bleeding has been 3weeks on and 1 week off.. Finally about 3 weeks ago the bleeding stopped yet yesterday it started back up and Im going on vacation tomorrow.. Is there anything at all that can be prescribed to stop it?

Hi,

Vaginal bleeding can occur during the first three months of Nexplanon use as your body gets adjusted to the new hormonal levels. Most women are instructed to wait and watch for symptoms. Pain killers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen has been proven to reduce the bleeding in some women. In case, bleeding exists even after 3 months of using Nexplanon, combined pills may have to be used.
