How To Strengthen The Heart Of A 84 Yr Old Male With Enlarged Left Ventricle, 23 % Ejection Fraction And 3 Hear Attacks?

I am an 84 year old male..Have had 3 heart atacks, last one in 2008. Recent stress test showed left ventricle greatly enlarged. Ejection fraction 23%. I am 5 ft 7 inches tall, weigh 115 lbs. What are the options for me to stengthen my heart. I excercie most days for 30+ minutes - stationary bike and treadmill.

your question is a very good one and genuine. so let's figure out what can be done
-first what is your coronary angiography like? how many arteries involved and to what extent?
-then we have many viability assessment investigations like -PET,dobutamine echocardiography ,MRI ,nuclear scans. any one will do. if there is >10% viable myocardium then chances if left ventricular functional improvement is high following stenting or Cabg. (depends on what you have in coronary angiography)
-optimization of drugs like - carvedilol,ramipril,aldactone,digoxin- help in preventing further damage and recovery
-one more option is -if your EKG shows left bundle brunch block - cardiac re-synchronization therapy may help you
-please update us with your investigations as noted above, for further advice
