How To Take The Birth Control Pill To Get Late Period?

Im going on a cruise in 4 weeks. I take a 91 day birth control pack. I am suppose to be on my period on the cruise and I dont want to have one then cause mine are really bad. would it be bad to stop my pills now and have a period? Will i have it like normal or will i not have it till my normal time? or should i continue with the pills and take an extra week of a new pack and then have my period when i get back?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can continue Progesterone pills for about 10 days more. Your period will come within 7 days of stopping it.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
