How To Terminate Pregnancy?

I think I may be pregnant. i had unprotected sex a week and a half ago. I need a way to insure I don t get pregnant. I don t want to have an abortion but at this point if I am pregnant I need a way to safely abort it without having a surgical abortion. I m scared, I m only 19, and I m just not financially ready for a baby. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Medical abortion is possible in early stages of pregnancy with two drugs Mifepristone and Misoprostol. I would suggest you to take a pregnancy test 2 weeks after your sexual intercourse if you need to rule out pregnancy. Any testing before that period will not give a correct result.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
