How To Test For HSV 2 Infection?

my name is Blake and i m from North Carolina. I go to NC State and I had work done here at the lab and my results came back for HSV. I was negative for HSV 1 but supposedly they said I have the antibody for HSV 2. I tested a 1.29 for it and I did some research and it shows that it is a very low postivie and i m not sure exactly if I have it or not because I have heard the igG test isn t the most accurate so basically what i m asking is how do I get a Western Blot test since i hear its the most accurate and also was curious if there were antibodies because I was also sort of sick with a cold/bronchitis.

Hello,

Antibody test are like IgM test will be accurate and will be positive after four to six weeks after exposure. You can opt for an IgM test to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
