Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have discovered that I have what appears to be a cyst on my labia majora. It has been there a couple of days and is now draining. Yesterday another one appeared on the opposite side of my labia majora. I also have a swollen cyst type thing in the crease of my leg. What could this possibly be? I am a married woman and my husband and myself have not had intercourse with anyone but each other for at least 20 years. Please help this is very painful... Please be advised I habve no health insurance and cannot aford to go to the doctor.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Cysts on labia majora and on leg appear to be primary skin blistering lesion. Photograph of the cysts would be more helpful to determine the nature of the cysts. Cysts are known to occur on labia due to enlargement of Bartholins gland and these enlarged glands often get infected. However, concurrent cyst on leg rule out the possibility of enlargement of Bartholins gland. Since, the cysts are painful, infection is probable and thus a course of antibiotic needs to be taken to control the infection. However, clinical assessment by your primary healthcare provider needs to be done to diagnose and then prescribe the drugs.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri Pain in the cysts suggest that these lesions have become infected.
