How To Test If Hard Lumps Found On Buttocks Are Cancerous?

I went to urgent care today, ive had a lump very solid for over a year in my right buttock check, they did an ultrasound and said I have 3, two solid ones and one that looks cystic, is it common for these to be cancer. The dr did say they were in the fat and not bone.

Hi,

A lump which is static for over 1 year is very unlikely to be cancerous. If it was cancerous, by this time it might have enlarged, overlying skin distorted / ulcerated and spread to surrounding areas. Also by palpation and ultrasound findings, your doctor can reliably detect cancer if any- you need not worry, just be confident. Most probably that will be lipomas.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
