How To Treat A Big Itchy Bump?

had a tick in the middle of my back yesterday....scratched it off because I didn't know what it was.....it's a big red bump now. My husband says he doesn't see any black pieces in it. Should I go to the DR.? It is itchy and every now and then like a needle prick feeling from it.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi

You seem to have developed a skin lesion of vector dermatitis . This is basically an allergic reaction caused due to insect bite.
You need to keep the affected area clean and dry .
Avoid itching or scratching of the area .
You might need to apply a topical steroid cream like cortisone over the affected areas twice a day .
In addition you should take some oral antihistamine to decrease the allergic reaction .

Hope it helps
