How To Treat A Bruised Leg After Being Kicked Hard On The Calf Of The Same Leg?

I was kicked pretty hard in my calf and it knotted up into a goose egg pretty quickly (within 24 hours). It's been almost a week and today, the foot on the same leg is now purple and very bruised. It's not swollen and doesn't hurt to touch it. I'm guessing that it is related to the kick to my calf from a few days ago. It was pretty alarming to take my shoe off tonight and notice how bad it looked. Also, my job requires me to stand on my feet for hours at a time. Advice?

From your history, it seems that you have got a hematoma in the calf region due to the trauma which might resolve of its own gradually with some anti inflammatory drug treatment. However, one has to exclude also any chances of a deep vein thrombosis specially considering your prolonged period of standing and the associated trauma. If I were your doctor, I would advise you to undergo a Doppler Ultrasound of the leg involved to see if there is a DVT. Further management will depend on its result.
