How To Treat A Crack In Head After An Injury?

hi my brother was drunk 2 weeks ago and from what we can gather he must have fell and split his head open , he went to hospital the next day where they glued it. The wound is still bleeding a little and it has a smell to it ? What should he do and should he have had an xray ?
