Hello,

Unfortunately, there is no way to remove a lung scar. Any time there is an infection in the lungs, some scarring may occur. Usually, this scarring does not damage lung function unless it is severe. He could get a pulmonary function test to make sure that his lung function is normal, but there is no way to remove the scarring.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kathy Robinson
