How To Treat A Polyp On Top Of The Tongue?

Hi, my mum has a polyp on top of her tongue, I think that's what it is. Its a white-ish, fleshy nodule. It wasn't there last week. It's currently about 3-4mm in length.

Just wondered if it is something to be worried about, do they go on their own or should we get it biopsied? Thanks.
