Because remaining pus in the burst abscess should be drained completely. There may be multiple septae and loculated collection of pus. These septae need to be broken and pus should be drained. Very rarely, abscess in the inner thigh may be extension of the intraabdominal or para spinal abscess. This is to be ruled out by physical examination. Further People with weakened immune systems get certain abscesses more often. Thus you need to investigate for diabetes, leukemia and any immuno compromised diseases. Hope this helps.
