How To Treat A Scab Inside Ear Drum?

I was told by the ear specialist to drop oil in my ear to help loosen the scab on the ear drum, so it comes out by itself. How long should I do that? I feel a little less pain after a week but it still feels like there is a curtain covering it and it should pop?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have scab in side your ear and doctor ask you to put oil drops inside ear . Well scab occur in ear usually due to ear drum rupture and there are chances of ear being getting infected . Soc i would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again and discuss the condition with him/her . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( gentamicin ) along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also recommend surgical procedure like tympanoplasty and patching of ear drum . For now keep your ear dry and apply warm dry compresses to external ear .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
