How To Treat A Small Knot On The Forehead Caused Due To An Accident?

I hit my forehead in a freak accident on 1/3/12 which made me have a small knot near my eyebrow. No headaches until today 1/11/12. I have a real bad headache feels like my head is going to explore the knot is still on my forehead. Should I get checked? My pupils are fine and no blurry vision since the accident to date. Please advise. I am 49 years old and in good active health, no health issues at this time. Not on any prescription drugs either.

Hello and welcome to " Ask a Doctor" service.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

Since there are no significant neurological symptoms, you should not be worried much more than necessary.

The knot you are referring to may be blood collection under the skin and should dissolve with time.

Ibuprofen or paracetamol may help for the headaches.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask if you have further questions.
