General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease which causes patchy loss of hair. Hair loss may resume after a year in many patients.Permanent hair loss is also possible.

I would suggest you to continue the treatment for 3 months and look for hair regrowth in the bald patches. While using steroid creams, use a little amount.Long term use can cause serious side effects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
