How To Treat An Open Wound On The Arm Caused Due To An Injury?

My boyfriend, Austin had work yesterday and he cut hisself with a glass bottle from the bottle machine. And when it happened yesterday he said it didn t burn but stung. And his arm hurt yesterday and this morning he had a red line going all the way up and he said it hurts to his armpit. I ended up taking him to the mercy hospital and he was way due past his tetanus shot so he got that then they gave him antibiotic meds. And said he was good? But at first the nurse was scared? But at the end she was calm. Austins not to worried about it. But I am. I just don t want anything to happen to him. The red line going up his line is still there but he said it doesn t hurt. Should I be worried

Hello,

It may be due to wound infection.

For that you may require antibiotics after surgeon consultation.

Continue regular dressing.

Maintain proper hygiene.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen
