How To Treat Ankle Infection While Taking Paracetamol For Fever?
Hiii, My father had compound fracture in fibula and tibula ( between Knee and ankle left leg). Surgery has been done and titanium rod and plate is fixed. But due to wound near ankle, he is not able to walk. As per doctor, due to diabatis, it will take time to heal. Now from last 2 days, he is suffering from fever so blood test is done. In that WBC 20000, ESR 75 mm/1hr and CRP 44. Due to infection these readings are high. But not given any medicine for infection. Except paracetamol for fever. No need to take medicine for infection?? what could be a reason for infection?? Fathers age is 62.
Hi, Due to diabetes flare of infection is common. It seems that there can be heavy infection as WBC count is very high. It should be treated with higher antibiotic medicine, preferable injectable. There might be having some reason why treating doctor did not prescribe antibiotic. Consult his treating doctor and discuss about this. Ok and take care.
