How To Treat Brain Tumor?

my boyfriends mum has a brain tumour (she was diagnosed last January) and given a prognosis of up to 2 years. However, last MRI (in December) showed the tumour had spread to half her brain. She is now deteriorating quite quickly and I was wondering what sort of time frame to expect. Her husband has, in the last month, become a full time carer and she is now unable to bath herself etc. thanks
