How To Treat Broken Hip Caused Due To A Injury In An Elderly Woman?

Mys sister is 77 years old. She broke her hip in a fall in December. She has been in a rehab facility for 90 days now. She loses her magnesium and they have not been able to determine why. She was taking 16 magnesium pills a day for weeks, and her magnesium was still low. Last week she had four intravenous injections of magnesium, and it is still low. What are the possible causes (and treatments) for this condition?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, you have not mentioned the clinical symptoms here, because this may not be due to magnesium but could be something else, hope this information helps, in orthopedic injuries, such mineral loss is common and this would come to normal one once the wound heal, hope this information helps, take care.
I find this answer helpful
