How To Treat Bruise And Mild Burning Sensation On Foot Caused After Injury?

I dropped a heavy box on my foot about one week ago. I immediately had a large bump swelling and bruising. I elevated and iced it for 20 minutes and then walked on it with minimal pain. After 2-3 days the mostly at of the swelling went away and the pain is gone except for some soreness. It is now 1 week later and I can still walk on it fine but there is still a lot of bruising and some soreness if touched. My daughter (9 months) stepped on it this morning and i noticed new redness (like blood under skin) as well as a slight burning sensation. I can still walk on it with no pain tho. Should I be concerned that it could be broken. I can walk and move it all around with out pain.

Hello,
This actually seems to be just the acute reaction that an area shows when it faces any injury. Had it been a fracture it should be quite painful and had it been some dislocation/ subluxation of the joint of the foot, it should be more painful and tender too. If the type of pain and tenderness you described persists, you better go for an x-ray to view if you have a hair-line or such minor a fracture. You need to take some anti-inflammatory drugs as well as protect the foot from any subsequent trauma. You should be better soon.
Routine blood tests is required though.
