These type of injuries are common in athletes. Normally if there is a
fracture it can take upto 6-9 weeks to get healed.
But
bruise means there is no break in bone but just a
stress or
contusion.It heals faster than fracture.
To prevent such injuries I would suggest
1.Keep weight off of the foot.
2.Do not wear heeled shoes at all but flat sole shoes.
3.Use wide front shoes so that toes should not be squeezed in the front
tapering type shoes.
4.Apply antibiotics with Steroid
5.If pain is more you can take NSAIDs on prescription
It will heal up in couple of weeks as long as you will avoid stress or weight on it.
